After a few discussion through mail and meeting, my supervisor suggested to me to used Artificial Intelligence as a new method in detecting the edges in Sickle Cell Anemia. My supervisor, Dr. Ahmad Sabry also send me articles to read so that i can get a few ideas to do more research on using Artificial Intelligence as my method to detect Sickle Cell.

Sickle Cell Anemia

Here, let me briefly explain on Sickle Cell Disease (SCD):) 
SCD is the blood disorder resulting form the abnormalities found in the Red Blood Cells(RBC). Normal RBC have a shape like biconcave disk, seems like doughnut but do not have hole at the center. This shape makes normal RBC move smoothly to the blood stream, so transportation of oxygen to all part of body and  body cells are smoothly. SCD have a shape like a crescent shape and it can't move smooothly to the blood stream. This cause a blockage in the blood arteries, soon the transportation of oxygen is not smoothly. The normal life cycle of RBC is 120 days but for SCD is only 20-30 days. This resulting in decrease of blood count and damage of organ. People with SCD have symptoms of fatigue, acute pain and infection and will lead to other chronic disease  like anaemia, cardiac, pulmonary and brain complication.
